Minister of Defense visited the Strategic Research Institute





 
Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin and Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Force General Ljubisa Dikovic visited the Strategic Research Institute at the barracks "Banjica 2" in Belgrade.
Minister Vulin underlined the importance of all previous Institute results and possession of research knowledge on current social processes.


He emphasized the importance of realizing the tasks of the Institute, such as the current security assessments of the degree of vulnerability, challenges, risks and threats to the security of the Republic of Serbia, the research of experiences from the existing global crisis and the analysis of processes and factors in international relations, which influence on the security and international position of the Republic of Serbia.
 

Minister Vulin added that it is necessary to constantly monitor the developments in the environment and their possible reflection on the security of Serbia and, in that sense, expressed willingness to provide the Institute with every kind of support, among other things, in terms of cooperation with the academic community.
Speaking about the future activities of the Institute, General Dikovic emphasized the importance of greater focus on demands of military activity and issues related to the functioning of the defense system.
Jovanka Šaranović, the director of the Institute, presented to the guests the organization, tasks and results of this institution and announced the upcoming projects and activities.
State Secretary in the Ministry of Defense, Aleksandar Zivkovic, and Rector of the University of Defense, Major-General Mladen Vuruna also attended at a meeting.
