Preview of the Archive Materials of the Military Archive from 1847 to May 15, 1945.

The Military Archive consists of two funds of archive materials up to the year 1941 and seven funds created through May 15, 1945.

Archive funds before 1941 are:

- The Serbian Principality/Kingdom Army, 1847-1920 and
- The Yugoslav Kingdom Army, 1921-1941.


Military funds of the old Serbian and ex-Yugoslav Army from 1847 to 1941 are presented through sub-funds:

Sub-fund No. 1 – The Military archive materials 1847-1911 (including one document from 1715).

Sub-fund No. 2 – The First and Second Balkan War Archive 1912-1913.

Sub-fund No. 3 – The war archive of the Serbian Army Supreme Command and all its departments 1914-1920.

Sub-fund No. 3a – Archive materials of the Material Departments and Supreme Command bodies (inoperative ones) 1914-1920.

Sub-fund No. 4 – The war archive of the armies and army regions 1914-1920.

Sub-fund No. 5 – The war archive of the Military Ministry with its departments and institutions 1914-1923.

Sub-fund No. 6 – The war archive of the divisions and division regions 1914-1920.

Sub-fund No. 7 - The war archive of different detachments, units and commands 1914-1921.

Sub-fund No. 8 – The war archive of the Cavalry Division, brigades and regiments 1914-1920.

Sub-fund No. 9 – The war archive of all I, II and III infantry regiments 1941-1920.

Sub-fund No. 10 – The archive of the Volunteer Corps in Russia 1916-1918.

Sub-fund No. 11 – The archive of the airplanes and panorama shots from the war 1914-1920.

Sub-fund No. 12 – The archive of the geographic and topographic sections related to the Balkan and European war fields, with national and international background – including the period until 1932.

Sub-fund No. 13 – The war archive of Austria-Hungary 1908-1918.

Sub-fund No. 14 – The archive of the standing and active army, the Military Ministry and the General Staff 1847-1911 (including a document from 1833).

Sub-fund No. 16 – Bought and given archive materials 1806-1941 (including several documents from 1941-1945).

Sub-fund No. 17 – Ex-Yugoslav Army archive from January 1921 to April 1941 (concluded with the April War).

Archive funds after 1941 are:

- Popular Liberation Army of Yugoslavia, 1941-1945;

- Draza Mihailovic’s Chetniks Movement, 1941-1945;

- Milan Nedic’s Serbian Government, 1941-1944;

- The Kingdom of Yugoslavia’s Government in Emigration, 1941-1945;

- German occupying army, 1941-1945;

- Italian occupying army, 1941-1943;

- Independent State of Croatia, 1941-1945.
