"National Action Plan of the Republic of Serbia – Indicators for Women, Peace, and Security: Monitoring and Implementation of the UN Security Council Resolution 1325" seminar opened
The Strategic Research Institute of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia, with technical support from United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women), and with financial support from the Government of the Kingdom of Norway, opened the seminar "National Action Plan of the Republic of Serbia – Indicators for Women, Peace, and Security: Monitoring and Implementation of the UN Security Council Resolution 1325".
The seminar was opened by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Defence, prof. Dr. Tanja Miščević, the Director of the Strategic Research Institute, Dr. Jovanka Šaranović, UN Women Regional Programme Director, Erika Kvapilova, UN Resident Coordinator to Serbia, William S. Infante, Director of the Belgrade Fund for Political Excellence, Sonja Licht, and members of the UN Women experts team, Malika Bhandarkar, Ana Lukatela, and Elsie-Bernadette Onubogu.
Seminar was attended by key partners who will implement the National Action Plan in Serbia: Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government, Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, members of the Gender Equality Committee of the National Assembly, Council for Gender Equality, Ombudsman's Office, as well as civil society organizations.
The participants are current and future members of institutional bodies and mechanisms for gender equality of the National Action Plan. This seminar is organized with the aim of consideration of the dealing with the gender equality issue, and estimation of the characteristics of indicators in Serbia, especially regarding the global UN and EU indicators. Seminar is going to be closed on June 2nd.
