Participation of Strategic Research Institute Researchers in the International Scientific Conference “Europe at a Crossroads – Just Let There Be No War”
Researchers from the Strategic Research Institute (SRI), Milan S. Milutinović and Nikola Preradović, participated in the International Scientific Conference titled “Europe at a Crossroads – Just Let There Be No War”, held on 9 May 2025. The event was organized by the Faculty of Business Studies and Law at the “Union – Nikola Tesla” University in Belgrade. The title of the conference contains a direct reference to the famous anti-war song “Just Let There Be No War”, written by singer-songwriter Đorđe Balašević in 1987 – a deeply emotional and symbolic piece widely known throughout the former Yugoslavia for its pacifist message.

As part of their participation, the researchers submitted papers on the following topics: “The Importance of the Military Profession for the Resilience of Serbia in a Fragile Security Environment” (Milan S. Milutinović) and “The Return of Donald Trump: Continuity or Change in American Foreign Policy” (Nikola Preradović). Abstracts of these and other papers were published in the Book of Abstracts presented at the conference, while the full thematic proceedings are expected to be published by the end of June 2025.

The conference brought together around 100 participants from the academic communities of Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia, including 60 researchers who submitted a total of 48 scientific papers. Opening addresses were delivered by Prof. Dr. Božidar Forca, Prof. Dr. Milan Radosavljević, Prof. Miloš Ković, and Prof. Dr. Milomir Stepić.
The participation of representatives from the Strategic Research Institute in this event reaffirms the Institute’s ongoing commitment to advancing scientific thought in the fields of security, international relations, and strategic studies, as well as its dedication to addressing contemporary challenges in both national and international security environments.
