Changes in the Strategic Environment of the Republic of Serbia – Trends and Implications Relevant to National Security and Defence (Ongoing)
The project “Changes in the Strategic Environment of the Republic of Serbia – Trends and Implications Relevant to National Security and Defence” is a multidisciplinary scientific research project in the field of social sciences, implemented at the Strategic Research Institute. The project was initiated to identify and explain the activities of relevant actors and entities, as well as the forms and content of strategic phenomena and processes that may have significant implications for the security and defence of the Republic of Serbia. Through the examination of the research subject, several phenomena and processes have been identified that may have the potential to produce strategic effects on the security and defence of the Republic of Serbia. These include global geopolitical competition, geostrategic realignment, the European Union's security and defence policy, the Fourth Industrial Revolution, armed conflicts, international crises, migration, extremism, and the global energy transition. The analysis of these issues will enable the acquisition of knowledge regarding long-term trends in the strategic environment and the anticipation of potential implications for the security and defence of the Republic of Serbia.
