Lecture by Dr. Paul Peterson at the Strategic Research Institute





Today, a significant scientific and professional activity was held at the Strategic Research Institute of the University of Defence within the framework of international cooperation, during which Dr. Paul Peterson, a theologian and researcher from the Center for Military History of the Federal Ministry of Defence of the Federal Republic of Germany in Potsdam, visited the Institute.


During his visit, Dr. Peterson delivered a lecture titled “The indispensable moral dimension: Decency, ‘soft power’ in international relations, security strategy and military culture,” in which he placed particular emphasis on the importance of the moral dimension in contemporary international relations, security strategy, and military culture. His presentation analyzed the role of decency and moral norms, as well as the concept of “soft power” as an important instrument of modern politics and security.


In addition to the Institute’s researchers, the lecture was attended by members of the academic community, including Professor Jovan Babić, PhD, retired professor of the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade.


Dr. Peterson’s visit represents a continuation of the longstanding and fruitful cooperation between the Strategic Research Institute of the University of Defence and the Center for Military History and Social Sciences of the Federal Ministry of Defence of the Federal Republic of Germany, reflected in joint scientific activities, exchange of experience, and the advancement of research in the field of strategic and security studies.
