The Proceedings Volume (Abstract Edition) “The Military Profession in the 21st Century”, published by the Institute for Strategic Research, provides an overview of the presentations delivered at the scientific conference of the same name, held on 25 November 2025 in Belgrade. The conference was organized within the framework of the project “The Military Profession in Serbia in the Contemporary Security Environment”, implemented by the Department for Defense Studies and Military Sciences of the Institute for Strategic Research at the University of Defence.

The editor of the volume is Colonel Dr. Miloš Milenković, Research Associate and the project’s principal investigator. The publication contains 15 papers authored by representatives of the Institute for Strategic Research, the “Vojvoda Radomir Putnik” School of National Defence, the Military Academy, the Strategic Planning Directorate of the Defence Policy Sector, the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as two civilian institutions — the Faculty of Security Studies of the University of Belgrade and the Institute of International Politics and Economics.
